"Halvcirkel" is a Copenhagen-based collaborative music ensemble consisting of a classical string quartet and producer Jonathan Bremer.

This project seeks to combine classical string quartets with a new approach to sound. Halvcirkel is  a meeting between classical fine art music and current sound production, drawing on the aesthetics of studio techniques typically applied in electronic music production and studio folk recordings.

In essence, the goal of this project is to broaden the typical classical audience beyond its traditional boundaries, attracting the curious listener.

Halvcirkel seeks not only to form a new approach to classical interpretation and performance, but also to its audience. Combining analog sound production techniques, electronic effects, and visuals, Halvcirkel creates its own world, one in which relevant soundscapes will connect listeners to the great compositions of string quartet repertoire.

Halvcirkel brings attention back to this art form by combining new music trends while maintaining a direct connection to the compositions themselves. Through his approach we want to renew the definition of the classical performance experience.
