Text mining and text analysis with R In-Person
Text mining is a set of powerful methods to analyze a large number of texts. It allows us to uncover patterns, trends, and insights that would be impossible to detect through manual reading alone. In this course, you will learn how to:
- Prepare texts for analysis
- Identify themes and topics in the texts
- Create visualizations to communicate your findings.
The dataset will consist of summaries from debates in the Danish parliament Folketinget, but the methods learning can be used to analyze any set of texts. We will focus on finding the top words that the various political parties use and identifying the different themes that they emphasize in the debates
You don't need to have any experience with text mining, but a basic familiarity with R is necessary, such as can be learned in our R for absolute beginners-courses
