Do you have a lot to write? Are you seeking community after coming back from a study break?
Join our weekly Shut Up & Write sessions in the Study Hall on the ground floor every Tuesday from 9:00–12:00. We have reserved specific places for you! These drop-in sessions offer a quiet, friendly space where students can write together in silence, helping you stay focused and productive.
No sign-up is needed—just bring your work, settle in, and enjoy a calm writing environment. Coffee is provided and everyone is welcome.
What is Shut Up & Write?
Shut Up & Write is an international community that supports writers in overcoming procrastination and maintaining steady progress on their work by offering structured, distraction-free writing sessions that participants complete independently. We are running the group in English, but it is fine to speak other languages.
Where is it?
There are guaranteed study places in the quiet reading room on the ground floor of the library where you can sit and write in a focused environment. The address is Nørre Alle 49, 2200 Copenhagen. There is coffee outside of the doors, near the couches.
Who is it for?
Everybody doing a writing project is welcome. All subjects, all levels, all languages! If you are returning from maternity leave, a break in your studies, or a sabbatical, then this environment is especially for you.
How does it work?
9:00 - You arrive at 9am and get a cup of coffee and a short introduction to the programme
9:10 - We start to write side-by-side
10:30 - We have a short coffee break where we recharge, stretch and chat
10:45 - We continue our writing session
12:00 - We are finished for the day! Have a moment of self-reflection or share your progress with others
**Our writing sessions are inspired by Shut Up and Write but are not affiliated with the Shut Up & Write organization.
