DESCRIPTION:Take a course in academic literature search at the library: 
 Here\, we will teach you everything from how to start investigating subject 
 areas to finding the latest articles that can address your research 
 question! \n\nThe course is divided into two parts: \n\nIn the first 45 
 minutes of the course\, we will demonstrate the basics of academic 
 literature searching. You will receive some simple tools to find relevant 
 information about your topic. We will introduce you to: \n\n\n	\n	Concept 
 clarification \n	\n	\n	Search tools such as Boolean operators 
 \n	\n	\n	Exploring the subject area through handbooks and interdisciplinary 
 databases \n	\n\n\nIn the second part of the course\, we delve deeper into 
 systematic searching in subject-specific databases. We will present to you: 
 \n\n\n	\n	Use of thesaurus (concept dictionary) \n	\n	\n	Use of search 
 history to refine search results \n	\n	\n	Citation searching \n	\n\n\nThe 
 course will be a blend of presentations from the instructor and hands-on 
 exercises. \n\nAll fields of study are welcome\, though we will focus on 
 social science topics and databases.\n\nWe are going to send you the zoom 
 link the day before the event.
